Words have Weight

February 18, 2018 Words have Weight

“Words carry energy and this gives language its power and its potential to heal or hurt. Most of us can remember a time that someone sent a word our way, and it stuck with us. It may have been the first time we received a truly accurate compliment, or the time a friend or sibling called us a name, but either way it stuck. This experience reminds us that what we say has weight and power and that ...

December 31, 2017

“Soon, the new year starts, so now’s a great time to: 1. Wipe the slate clean. 2. Focus upon what you really want. 3. Chart your course. Or is that a bit old school? Feels tiring? Ugh! How about an adventurous alternative? 1. Give thanks that your life is exactly as it is. 2. Decide that 2018 will be the happiest year of your life yet. 3. Every day, follow your heart and instincts down ...

Blessing Mug

August 21, 2017 Blessing Mug

This summer I received an order for 20 Bless Your Heart® mugs. When I delivered the mugs, the lady (I’ll call her Sophie) told me she had terminal cancer. Sophie was from Texas and was very fond of saying “Bless your heart” to those she loved and cared for. Last week I received another order from her for 10 more mugs. Sophie said, she just keeps thinking of more friends and family she would ...

Everyday Blessing

April 16, 2017 Everyday Blessing

He has Risen.  Each and every day is a Blessing whether we are breathing in a quiet moment, bowing our heads in reverence or gathering with family and friends.  All of each and every day are Blessings and a time for gratitude. Happy Easter.

Blessings and Gratitude

April 09, 2017 Blessings and Gratitude

I believe blessings and gratitude are the same thing, that is my intention.  I know the unseen power of a blessing and giving thanks as it has been know for centuries.  For the doubters, there is a little proof in Head Strong, by David Asprey.  “A sense of gratitude is the opposite of a sense of anxiety.  Just being thankful for a little thing can shift your whole body’s state from ...

Good Night

February 19, 2017 Good Night

“Do not go gentle into that good night. Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light. Though wise men at their end know dark is right, Because their words had forked no lightning they Do not go gentle into that good night. Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay, Rage, rage against the dying of ...

Love is the Dance

February 12, 2017 Love is the Dance

Dance.  “Love is the question and the answer.  It is the music and the dancer”  -Anna Taylor.  This is such a beautiful quote and it reminds me of a mare I raised, Dancer.  At not quite two years old she was severally injured, so very much so, the vet suggested she should be put down.  At the same time I was going through many personal challenges.  I made the choice to work with ...

The Present

December 31, 2016 The Present

This is the time of the year to reflect on the past and think to the future.  But I say “stay in the present, the now, the moment.”  “Only when your consciousness is totally focused on the moment you are in, can you receive whatever gift, lesson or delight that moment has to offer”-Barbara De Angelis. It doesn’t have to be a great sunset or the delight of your child’s ...

November 27, 2016 Gratitude

This Thanksgiving brings about massive amounts of “thanks” along with the mashed potatoes.   This Thursday, as I sat at the table of bounty, I thought to myself, ‘will we all be here next year?’  I had to remind myself, not to take this moment for granted for it truly is a moment in time.  As the season of giving, sharing and gratitude starts, I vowed to focus ...

I Choose Love

July 10, 2016 I Choose Love

“Let choice whisper in your ear and love murmur in your heart.  Be ready.  Here comes LIFE.”  – Maya Angelou In every given moment we have a choice as to how we will see or feel a situation.  Do we come from a place of love or fear? It is a lot like . . .  is the glass half empty or half full? When we come from love, we find ourselves in a soft, inviting place.  When we come ...

May 08, 2016

Happy Mother’s Day everyone.  Always remember come from your heart.  Whether Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, New Years or the child down the block just broke your window. If you come from your heart, you will not look back in remembrance and wish you would have done differently.  We never know where the other person’s mind is, but we can make sure and know where ours is.  ...

May 01, 2016 Spring

Our Colorado winter just keeps hanging around.  Hope springs eternal and that is what is on everyone’s mind.  When will it be Spring and when will it stick around for a while?  Everyone s ready to soak in the sunshine, enjoy the outdoors in shirtsleeves and plant in their gardens.  However, Mother Nature is the boss with no one telling her when and what to do. In life we find ourselves ...

Early Spring

February 28, 2016 Early Spring

If everything stays the same, then everything is the way it should be. – Author Unknown.  The above photo depicts 5 migratory birds that are local to Northern Colorado during the summer.  When I hear a Meadowlark sing, I know Spring has arrived.  But it’s the week of February 21st, hardly Spring and they have already arrived.  The “same” part, is that they are back.  ...

February 14, 2016 LOVE IS IN THE AIR

“Love is in the air, in the rising of the sun Love is in the air, when the day is nearly done And I don’t know if you are illusion Don’t know if I see truth” -George Young, Johannes Vandenberg

January 18, 2016 IMAGINE

It’s only January but I’ve been thinking of spring and  the contrast of the green grass and the snow capped mountains.  I know it will be here sooner or later, as it always is, so why wish for it?  Just maybe if I imagine it is already here, it will arrive sooner, at least in my mind’s eye.  I love the first day each late winter or very early spring when I look out the window ...

Magnificent World

January 01, 2016 Magnificent World

“The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.”– Henry Miller. This quote reminds me of all the possibilities as I focus on what I am drawn to in this photo.  Just take one element . . . hair.  Do I focus on the different colors and shading?  The pattern and direction of hair growth ...

October 23, 2015 Allow

“When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional ...

September 18, 2015 Art

The principle of true art is not to portray, but to evoke.” -Jerzy Kosinski Just as art evokes, I also believe something truly beautiful touches our hearts and evokes a feeling.  To portray or copy is mechanical in nature and does not inspire. What touches your heart in this photo?  Is it the majesty of the landscape, the colors of the sky, the rainbow, the grasses, the light?  The feeling ...

Love Wins

August 19, 2015 Love Wins

It’s so much fun to teach a child how to play Rock, Paper, Scissors.  Their eyes light up when they understand how to play, followed by giggles when they win.  A couple of weeks ago my friend posted on Facebook a delightful story about teaching her 5 year old son this simple game. “Alex made up a new move in Rock, Paper, Scissors.  It is LOVE, and it beats everything.  Yes, it does ...

Heck of a Bunch

June 17, 2015 Heck of a Bunch

Terra Heck, blog, had a lovely review of the Bless Your Heart® Collection’s coffee mug. “I’m sure you’ve all heard the saying “Bless your heart”. Has anyone ever come up to you and relayed that statement as a sign of empathy? Don’t we all want to receive blessings and favor? ”  Terra nailed it. “Bless Your Heart® has beautiful ...

Look Up

May 22, 2015 Look Up

Keep looking up . . . that’s the secret of life.  -Snoopy Snoopy is right of course, but these last two weeks in Northern Colorado, we would have very wet faces looking up.  So much rain.  I don’t mind because rain is great for the vegetation and the lifeblood of the prairie.  Maybe another way to say it . . . look at the bright side.  Again, these last couple of weeks we would say, ...

April 11, 2015 Mindful

I just read a great article on the characteristics of mindfulness,  You might be surprised to know, if you are in a mindful state, you are NOT sitting and humming to yourself.  Just the opposite is true.  If you are mindful, you are paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment and nonjudgmental “as if your life depended on ...

Find Yourself

February 22, 2015 Find Yourself

Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere and sometimes in the middle of nowhere you find yourself. Such is a day like today.  The blanket of snow has given the land a soft insulated feeling.  When my surroundings are quiet, I can then quiet my mind; reflect and project.  Sitting in the quiet and allowing whatever feelings and thoughts are floating around to come together and incubate.  ...

February 12, 2015 Love

Valentine’s Day is this weekend and it’s all about LOVE. We take time to show those special in our lives, that we care about them. It’s our true nature to show “someone” we care about them and in turn we hope we are cared about as well. It could be a family member, a friend, a lover, an animal or your partner. I heard this week that Americans will spend eight million dollars this year on ...

Birthday Blessing

January 12, 2015 Birthday Blessing

Today is my birthday and I am feeling very content.  It’s that feeling that everything is OK and really being in the moment. That brought to mind a quote from an unknown author: At the end of the day before you close your eyes be fulfilled by your actions and content with who you are. And I would add “Be in gratitude”.

Giving Thanks

November 30, 2014 Giving Thanks

This is the time of year we focus on what we have and what is working.  We give thanks for what is good and what is near and dear to us in our life.  Whether it be our family, friends, our love or simply the great piece of pumpkin pie we just ate.  It seems all our senses are heightened from the twinkling lights, the red poinsettias,  the smell of freshly baked cookies, to the snow falling on ...

November 26, 2014 Thanksgiving

This is the blessing I grew up with around the dinner table: “Thank you Lord for the world so sweet Thank you Lord for the food we eat Thank you Lord for the birds that sing Thank you Lord for EVERYTHING.” Now my grand children hold hands and recite this blessing at dinner time. As they say the last verse, they raise their hands into the air at “EVERYTHING”.

Thank You

November 23, 2014 Thank You

Thank you . . . For each morning with its light; For the rest and shelter of the night; For health and food, for love and friends; For everything thy goodness sends. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Veterans Day

November 11, 2014 Veterans Day

Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day as it is still recognized in the UK.  Last night on television, I saw the amazing array of poppies acknowledging all those from the UK that didn’t grow old as a result of WWI.  From Livermore, Colorado I’d like to bless the hearts of all those who have not grown old as a result of war.  These photos of Livermore poppies were taken ...

September 04, 2014 Anasazi Horses

I found this wonderful sterling silver charm on the Santa Fe Plaza.  Geraldine Garcia of the San Felipe Pueblo creates charms and earrings with Anasazi art.  Her business is called Heart of Anasazi and I chose the charm of the horses.  The Anasazi believed they signify perseverance, strength and nature. Chance Encounters

August 27, 2014 Chance Encounters

I read an interesting article this month Imprinting can change your life by Sandi Squicquero, psychotherapist. What caught my attention was not imprinting but the reference to “chance meetings”. She said, “Most of the major events in life happen by chance . . .” That was a very powerful statement and I thought about the major events in my life and I could see the connections. “Albert Bandura, ...

August 13, 2014 Hope

This is a beautiful saying I’ve kept for many years.  The author was not identified.  It brings to mind how the simple things around us can bring us hope when we are blue.  Just pay attention to what surrounds you.  It is usually the smallest sight, sound or smell that will resonate with your heart and lift your spirits.

Blessings to hearers and bestowers

August 06, 2014 Blessings to hearers and bestowers

As I read the article by Norris Burkes, Chaplain, in the Coloradoan Saturday, August 2, 2014, Blessings a comfort to hearers but also to bestowers, I could relate to his message.  Many would find it absurd to think a blessing could have an affect when only those present are the deceased and the bestower.  Nothing could be farther from the truth for the giver of the blessing also receives as do the ...

Love is the answer

June 24, 2014 Love is the answer

I recently consulted with a friend and marketing expert.  He said, “Cheryl everything you are involved in is connected by and with love.  Your family, animals, work, friends, the beauty of the landscape and your country.  You wouldn’t be so vested if you didn’t come from that place of love.” And he is right.  I come from the heart in my daily life with the activities that ...

Memorial Day

May 25, 2014 Memorial Day

I can still remember the tears that would well up in my Dad’s eyes if and when he would talk about “the war”.  He served in WWII as a radar man on the aircraft carrier Saratoga.  He was only 21 and had never been outside of his hometown of Omaha, NE.  He was frightened the entire time and also seasick.  Their ship nearly sunk twice. I hope you all saw our country musicians on ...

April 06, 2014 Sunsets: Now Volume 4 of 10

First of all there is the time before, at and following the setting of the sun.  This is what makes the colors we so enjoy.  The light is always different and the direction as the sun sets changes every day.   “You have never been older, and you will never be this young again.”  ...

Trust your Heart

March 01, 2014 Trust your Heart

That little voice in our head can be so persistent when we are coming to a decision.  If we are in our head, we will feel anticipation, expectation, fear and ego, judgment and so on.  We are normally in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives.  All the emotions rattle around as we try to justify and make logical sense of our choice. It’s easy to be mental and go with the head games.  They are ...

Create from your Soul

February 22, 2014 Create from your Soul

“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” -Rumi  How many times have you said or heard?  “I was in the zone and everything just flowed.  I didn’t have to think about it.”  That truly is when we are creating from our soul, from our heart.  We don’t have to make it happen, it just does.  When I’m in this place, time stands still, ...

Frosty Hearts

February 14, 2014 Frosty Hearts

Happy Valentine’s Day Hearts are everywhere if we just open up to them.  They are part of nature and of our man made world.  I’ve walked by these gates several times a week for over 15 years and I’ve never seen the hearts.  It took a frosty morning and a photographer eye to capture the heart.  When I looked at the photo, the heart leaped off the page offering a sense of gratitude. ...

February 04, 2014 Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a new buzzword.  It was last weeks’ Time magazine’s cover article and there is even a magazine, Mindful.  The techniques, when practiced, are meant to quiet a busy mind.  It is to help us stay in the present and forget about the past and the future. Technology has made it easier to multitask.  “In a time when no one seems to have enough time, our devices allow us to be many ...

January 19, 2014 Attitude

I think it was Dolly Parton that said, “We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails.”  After more than a week of wind, including 3 days where it clocked over 95 MPH, I was more than ready for it to stop.  The forecast had been for calmer days last Thurs-Sat. but it didn’t happen.  It was warm and windy, as in over 50 MPH.  Now I don’t like to do anything in the wind, except ...

January 12, 2014 Birthdays

Birthdays or more specifically, my birthday, is always a time of reflection.  This year I’m in a place of  . . . how did I get this age?  I was just in my 30’s last time I checked.  NOT.  I say I’m going to remember to choose things that make me happy and healthy but it usually is not my first choice.  I’m too busy thinking of my ongoing “to do” list. I look at my family and think ...

Beautiful Mind

January 03, 2014 Beautiful Mind

In 2010 Harvard University found that “In conclusion, a human mind is a wandering mind and a wandering mind is an unhappy mind.  The ability to think about what is not happening is a cognitive achievement that comes at an emotional cost”.   Mindfulness is very difficult for us to achieve because we spend most of our waking hours thinking about something other than what we are doing.  Thesewandering ...

Returning Light

December 29, 2013 Returning Light

Have you noticed? The sky is staying lighter for a longer time before setting. I always breathe a sigh of relief when we move past Dec. 21st. I love the cycles but I do appreciate when we turn this corner. I was out of town over the holiday and I did not notice the returning light. But once I was back on the northern plains it was obvious. It’s only been one week but the sky now contains that beautiful ...

Gift of Joy

December 22, 2013 Gift of Joy

Somehow, not only for Christmas but all the long year through, the joy that you give to others is the joy that comes back to you – John Greenleaf Whittier. Beautiful quote and true. I placed these red poinsettias around the house to add a bit of festive cheer.  I did it so that those visiting would get a lift, a sense of joy, by their color.  And that is exactly what they did for me!  Joy ...

November 27, 2013 Bless This Normal Day

Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.  Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.  Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.  Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.  One day I shall dig my nails into the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all ...

Donkey’s Dilemma

July 18, 2013 Donkey’s Dilemma

One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At ...

Three Choices

July 08, 2013 Three Choices

There are many variations of “We have three choices in life: Give up; Give in; Give it all you got.”  This last weekend we had a beautiful ride on these two horses, Pete and Hank.  After our ride they had gone in the lake to splash and cool off.  This weekend, the ride was perfect, no fuss and no resistance.  They acted like the two older broke geldings they were. Pete was the first foal born ...

Our Star Spangled Banner

July 04, 2013 Our Star Spangled Banner

The Star Spangled Banner Lyrics By Francis Scott Key 1814 Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our ...

Super Moon

June 26, 2013 Super Moon

Yesterday a friend reminded me that I had not posted or been on Facebook for a few days.  Summer is so busy that yes, I have been distracted by family, friends, and animal recreation and care.  The photo I’m including with this post was taken last Saturday night.  In the image is the super moon and the beautiful phoebe.  The super moon illuminated the sky and the entire house, all night long.  ...

Positive energy

June 17, 2013 Positive energy

Today’s Coloradoan had an article Use your energy to pick others up, Katy Piotrowsk, .  Katy didn’t mean to “pick them up” but to rather bring their energy up. Bruce Schneider, author of “Energy Leadership believes that through conscious effort, we can raise our own level and positively influence the ...

Grandmother Blessing

June 14, 2013 Grandmother Blessing

The peonies are blooming and last week a friend brought me a beautiful bouquet from his yard. The color was a delicate pink and the fragrance divine.  The peonies took me back to my childhood.  Both of my Grandmothers had pink peonies in their yards.  They always had a bouquet in the house and they would always grumble at the ants that would be on the blooms.  They thought the ants helped the ...

Heart Blessings

June 09, 2013 Heart Blessings

The Bless Your Heart logo says it all.  Yes, the letter “B” is for “Blessings”.  However, the true essence of the logo is the heart shape.  For there are blessings and then there are blessings.  Blessings can take on many different meanings depending on the surroundings.  When I would go to church as a youngster, I knew blessings were good and I was supposed to say them.  That’s what ...

Trust the Change

June 02, 2013 Trust the Change

Change is everywhere. I’m reminded when I look out the window and know that 1 month ago I was in 2.5 feet of snow and now the grass is so green. Birds are taking care of their young and mares are teaching their new foals how to behave in the herd. The other change this time of year is graduation for our young people. Graduation from college or a trade school has so many implications and expectations. ...

Spirituality is key to happiness

May 29, 2013 Spirituality is key to happiness

Spirituality is key to happiness. I’ve heard this before but haven’t really found any scientific proof to substantiate this claim. And I really don’t need proof. I know I draw from my beliefs in times of doubt, fear or trouble. I go to my Creator when I acknowledge my Blessings. Some people might just call this making positive choices when all else fails. Maybe. Paula David-Laack, JD, MAPP, ...

Bless the Unexpected

May 19, 2013 Bless the Unexpected

I go about most weekdays attempting to cross things off my to-do list and on the weekends, I plan for activities that are relaxing.  Before each day gets started and before the light ends, I like to look out the window.  I take my time scanning the horizon, the sky and the livestock.  I allow my eyes to take it all in  knowing that unconsciously my eyes will pick up on anything that is out of ...

Zest, zone, zeal and zebras

April 30, 2013 Zest, zone, zeal and zebras

What do zebras have in common with zest or zeal?  This little guy was being shipped from California to California along with one of my American Quarter Horses.  The red fabric is his blankie.  There were 4 other zebras in the trailer and they were all ready to bolt because they had so much zest and zeal!  Zebras look like a horse but they will always have that wild animal instinct to bolt, even ...

April 29, 2013 Yoga

I have friends that own a yoga studio in Denver, CO,  We were playing around with some ways to collaborate their yoga studio with Bless Your Heart.  We were both just getting our businesses off the ground and we were being very creative.  I came up with a few Yoga abbrevs that we could use to spark some interest in the two businesses.  Here they are:  Blessom, Blessyoga, ...

X’s and O’s

April 27, 2013 X’s and O’s

We have all used or at least recognize “xxxooo”, the universal symbol for kisses and hugs.  One of the abbrevs we created is “Blessxxoo”.  Read more about abbrevs;  So many times we sign a card with X’s and O’s when we are not quite sure of writing that convoluted word “love”.  It’s also a fun way to signal your friendship ...

Water is for Blessing

April 26, 2013 Water is for Blessing

Some of you may have read The Hidden Messages in Water by Masaru Emoto; In this book, photographs illustrate what words, music, photos and thoughts can do to water crystals. I was able to experience this first hand when I was a part of an actual blessing of water.  In a workshop conducted by G W Hardin, I tasted the unblessed water; flat.  Then G W instructed ...

April 25, 2013 Vortex

A vortex is the swirling out of control feeling of everything spinning inward or outward.  When I find myself in a swirly place, I feel like I’m getting pulled in a direction I have not chosen.  A real vortex is not out of control, and in fact spins around an imaginary axis.  This is true in nature, such as the cloud formation in the photo attached to this blog courtesy of ...

April 24, 2013 Ubiquitous

Ubiquitous would have been a good word to use when I posted the Oneness blog.  Ubiquitous means:  present everywhere or in several places simultaneously; often encountered.  The Oneness is ubiquitous and so is the holographic universe.  I place Blessings in the same category for the vibration of a Blessing affects everything. Because Blessings are ubiquitous, we do not always know the effect it ...

April 23, 2013 Tshirts

I trademarked the Bless Your Heart logo on T-shirts and caps.  Both items are such a part of our everyday life, whether at home or out and about.  In Northern Colorado people wear tees and ball hats everywhere.  It part of our outdoors life and in fact folks can be seen wearing them when they go out to eat.  Many people don’t like the casualness of the dress but the horse is already out of the ...

Sterling Silver

April 22, 2013 Sterling Silver

Bless Your Heart sterling silver pendant is a favorite of mine and I wear it nearly every day.  I’ve worn it so long now that I can tap into the feeling of it on my neck. When I’m in an emotional or difficult setting, I’ll reach up and hold it as if to deepen my connection.   I am immediately taken to that place of peace.  The more I can stay in the heart centered place of my being, the ...

April 20, 2013 Reminders

So how do we stay in the place of blessing from the heart? One of the ways I’ve found is simple everyday reminders that I can see, feel and touch. Last week, I was having a most frustrating conversation with a contractor’s assistant. When I got off the phone, I remember thinking how sorry I felt for her because she was very slow in tracking the numbers. I was doing quite a bit of muttering to ...

April 19, 2013 Quantum

Blessings have the power to change the world. Unbelievable?  OK, then let’s simplify things and start with you.  Blessings have the power to change you and your world.  This may sound oversimplified, impossible or idealistic but scientific research proves that blessings have a positive impact on the quantum energy field that is part of and around all of us. Scientists have confirmed what angels ...

April 18, 2013 Paper

I decided one of the trademark categories I wanted for Bless Your Heart was paper products.  I know what you are thinking “Why would you do that; we are becoming a paperless society?”   I agree and these products can be a part of our fast paced world. Again, they are simple reminders.  For example the Bless Your Heart labels are quick and easy to use when sending a package.  Not only am I ...

April 17, 2013 Oneness

The Oneness is what I believe we are all from and connected in.   I think of the Divine as Oneness.  This magnificent soup is where all is possible and all has occurred and will occur.  There is no time, space, space/time or time/space or for that matter, past, present or future.  There is no out there or in here and duality does not exist because Oneness is the state of being one; whole.  It ...

April 16, 2013 North

When I look north out my window, this photo is the image I see.  I never get tired of it whether, day break, sunset, winter, spring, summer or fall.  The light and shadows are always different.  When storms are approaching, rain or snow often fills the canyons prior to arriving at the house.  It is awesome.   Hiking up to the top of this rock formation and looking back over and down at the ...

April 15, 2013 Mug

I love to have my morning coffee or afternoon tea in my Bless Your Heart glass mug.  First thing in the morning, just looking at the logo, I can focus and gather my thoughts for the day ahead.  I call upon this simple ritual as I move throughout my day. In the afternoon, I will have a mug of hot tea and again take a deep breath.  Focusing on the Bless Your Heart logo allows me to refocus and gather ...

April 13, 2013 Love

Love is an interesting word and has many meanings.  The person emitting the word has a reason for using it.  Does it originate from a deep fondness or affection or is it love in a romantic sense? The recipient of the written or spoken word love gets to choose what meaning to give it, whether the sender intended it or not. There seems to be three or four general concepts associated with the word ...

April 12, 2013 Keys

One thing we consistently access is our keys.  What a better way to remember to bless, then a charm for the key ring?  Whether opening the door to my home, the mailbox, or starting the car, every time, I pull out my keys, I see this simple reminder.  It takes me to a centered place.  Even if I’m in a hurry, hearing the phone ring, composing a blog in my head, whatever, I can come back to the ...

April 11, 2013 Joy

Joy is almost a foreign concept to most of us.  We have fun, we relax, we recreate, but pure joy?  Joy is such an abandoned feeling.  Nothing else enters my mind when I am joyful.   I forget my worries and let go; sometimes act silly.  I feel joy when I’m around children or my animals, especially my grandchildren.  When they start acting silly and giggling, it’s pure joy to me.  I can ...

April 10, 2013 implicity

Chances are you have never heard of the word “implicity” but you think it sounds familiar. That’s because it is an abbrev. Urban Dictionary describes an abbrev as an abbreviation of the word abbreviation. It’s a common word for describing the language of talking in shortened versions of words; At Bless Your Heart, we have fun mixing abbrevs ...

Heart Blessings

April 09, 2013 Heart Blessings

When I am at an event with the Bless Your Heart products, people will come up and say, “Is that a B or a heart”.  I love to tell them it’s both!  It represents Blessings from the heart.  The B is an easy association.  The word “heart” is a little trickier because there are so many different meanings attached to the word. It was amazing to receive the trademarks on the Bless Your Heart ...

April 08, 2013 Gratitude

I love this phrase:  Breathe in Blessings and Breathe out Gratitude. It sounds easy but I have to take a deep breath and really get focused in order to practice this.  It’s easy to do when I’m in a conscious peaceful place.  Many times I do this when I’m watching a sunrise or a sunset.  I feel so blessed and I’m so grateful for the gift of beauty that I am beholding. One of my favorite ...

April 06, 2013 Force

When I think of force, I think of a tornado or raging river.  When I think of power, I think of Blessings, love, migratory birds and the innate intelligence of the human body.  Of course I could give many more examples of power or force, but I’m sure you get the idea.  One of my all-time favorite books is Power vs. Force, the Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior, David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D. ...

Earrings bling and bliss

April 05, 2013 Earrings bling and bliss

Have you ever been a part of a professional photo shoot for products?  When I received the first sterling silver jewelry, water bottles and glass mugs I wanted to have great photos taken of them for promotional purposes.  After asking some friends, I talked to Jim Cambon at  Jim specializes in the photography of bright and shiny things, such as cars, water fixtures, jewelry, ...

Dogs and cats, horses and more

April 04, 2013 Dogs and cats, horses and more

Dogs, cats, horses and all animals can benefit from Blessings.  They do not know what a blessing is but they do know what they are feeling because it creates a vibration and everything is vibration.  If what we are doing for them or to them is a decision we have made from our heart, it feels better to them. If we are trying to push them into change, trying to force our agenda on them, then it doesn’t ...

Cure with Blessings

April 03, 2013 Cure with Blessings

There are many things that we consider less than perfect, so we want to cure, heal or correct the situation.  We judge the situation based on what we consider it “should” be.  Now that is dangerous territory.  If I see or hear something that takes me to a negative emotion, I simply bless it.  It took me a number of years to realize I usually have absolutely no control over another’s situation.  ...

Bless Your Heart

April 02, 2013 Bless Your Heart

When I first thought to create Bless Your Heart products as everyday reminders to bless, I knew what I didn’t want the logo to look like.  I didn’t want it to be “churchy”, “crafty” or like it belonged in my Grandmother’s kitchen.  No feathers, wings, gingham or lace.  I didn’t want it to be preachy or heavy in its message and appearance. I wanted the logo to fit into our everyday ...

Angels, fancy that

April 01, 2013 Angels, fancy that

Scientists have confirmed what angels have stated in documented appearances: the power of blessing alters reality. I know it sounds unbelievable but it’s true. Science is finally catching up with the spiritual world. Many of us avoid negative words, people, places or events because we know it can drag us down. But to stay elevated, do we remember to create the positive? I think not. I took the message ...

Liebster Award-I Accept

March 31, 2013 Liebster Award-I Accept

Yesterday, Jodi from nominated  for the Liebster Award through the A-Z challenge.  As a member of the challenge, we promote those who have signed up for daily April blog posts.   I hit the accept button before I knew what I was agreeing to.  Now you’ll get to know me a little bit better because I agreed to post random facts ...

March 29, 2013 Blessa-z

I have agreed to post a blog every day for the month of April in the A-Z Challenge blog, Like I need another challenge in my life? My postings will be all about Blessings from the heart. I will expand on the why, where, when, who and how of a Blessing. I will exclude religious practices because I think we have these pretty well covered. I will write about those other times ...

Meadowlark’s Blessing

March 24, 2013 Meadowlark’s Blessing

The child whispered, “God, speak to me”  And a meadow lark sang.  The child did not hear.  So the child yelled, “God, speak to me!”  And the thunder rolled across the sky but the child did not listen.  The child looked around and said, “God let me see you” and a star shone brightly but the child did not notice.  And the child shouted, “God show ...

Blessing of Birds

March 17, 2013 Blessing of Birds

Have you noticed?  The birds came back this last week; those that stay the entire summer and those that are migrating through.  They have arrived early due to our unusual warm weather.  Just this last week, I’ve seen bluebirds, red-winged blackbirds, mallards, meadowlarks, red-tailed hawks, and soaring turkey vultures. It’s been amazing and such a blessing to watch them and listen to their ...

Irish Blessing

March 10, 2013 Irish Blessing

In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I decided to look at some Irish Blessings. So many times, if we are looking for a wonderful Blessing, the Irish come to mind. Their history is laced with Blessings about their everyday life, nature, family, meals and their faith. Northern Colorado has had a very tough couple of years as we have had below normal moisture. February, 2013 and now March has also been extremely ...

Bless Your heart, Lululemon and Atlas Shrugged.

March 04, 2013 Bless Your heart, Lululemon and Atlas Shrugged.

What do these three have in common?  Lululemon’s  founder, Chip Wilson, company manifesto,, is to elevate the world from mediocrity to greatness.  When he first read Ayn Rand’s book Atlas Shrugged as an 18 year old, it had an impact on him.  Rand describes a society where people work and reside in government-controlled environments and without realizing ...

Blessings from the heart are smart

February 25, 2013 Blessings from the heart are smart

It’s simple. Blessings from the heart are smart. Blessings have the power to change you and your world. This may sound oversimplified, impossible or idealistic but scientific research proves that blessings have a positive impact on the quantum energy field that is part of and around all of us. Lynne McTaggart explores the science of intention in The Intention Experiment, and demonstrates that thought ...

Bless Your Heart, down South

February 17, 2013 Bless Your Heart, down South

In considering the name for Bless Your Heart, I thought others might think of the tongue in cheek way southern women say “Bless your Heart”. A few advised me to choose something different. But, Bless Your Heart is about Blessings and the heart and besides, the phrase has been used in all parts of the world. I decided I would benefit from understanding how and why a southern woman claims this phrase. ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 11, 2013: What changes, if any, have you experienced after you sent a Blessing?

February 11, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 11, 2013: What changes, if any, have you experienced after you sent a Blessing?

Have you ever experienced a noticeable change after sending a Blessing?  I have a few times and one in particular stands out.  This young man working for me had a real chip on his shoulder.  I silently sent him a Blessing.  When I returned several minutes later, he was very courteous and offered to assist me in any way possible with the work at hand. Most the time I don’t experience the “change”.  ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 10, 2013: What part of your community or our world would you bless?

February 10, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 10, 2013: What part of your community or our world would you bless?

When I go about my day, there is so much negative press.  Many people listen to the news first thing in the morning and the last thing at night.  This proved to be a real downer for me, so I’ve gotten away from that old habit.  I don’t even have a news feed as my home page.  I don’t want to be pulled into the sensationalism and fear.  Most the time I catch bits and pieces of the news while ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 9, 2013: How did you feel the last time you felt someone sending you a Blessing?

February 09, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 9, 2013: How did you feel the last time you felt someone sending you a Blessing?

When I know someone has blessed me, I feel special and I feel gratitude for the situation that has brought our hearts together.  Even if the Blessing has followed a sneeze, I always attempt to make eye contact and say, “thank you.”  Lately, I’ve started saying “Bless your heart” following a sneeze.  Many times the other person will look at me and smile before they acknowledge my act of ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 8, 2013: Was the last Blessing you sent, spoken or silent?

February 08, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 8, 2013: Was the last Blessing you sent, spoken or silent?

I feel comfortable verbally Blessing someone I am close to, in a place of worship, when someone sneezes or my goodness, when I hold a new baby.  It feels appropriate and rarely do I feel embarrassed.  But there are other times when I am not comfortable or I think I might make the other person feel awkward.  It just may not feel appropriate sending a verbal Blessing.  So I trust myself.  A nonverbal ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 7, 2013: Do you know how to say Bless your heart or Bless you in another language?

February 07, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 7, 2013: Do you know how to say Bless your heart or Bless you in another language?

Recently I heard a couple of women awing and cooing over a new born baby.  I heard “bendiga su corazón.”  My ears perked up because I knew “su corazón” meant “your heart”.  As I watched these ladies, they had softness in their eyes and in their voices.  I knew whatever they said, came from their heart.  When I returned home, I searched for the meaning of “bendiga” and sure enough ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 6, 2013: Have you ever blessed an animal?

February 06, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 6, 2013: Have you ever blessed an animal?

I bless animals with the same intention as I bless people and situations. I don’t know if they feel “better”, but I do. Animals don’t know what a Blessing is in the human sense of the word. But, I believe they can feel the difference if we are in our hearts not our heads. When we come from our hearts, it changes the feeling of the intention we are sending them. I also believe they know when ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 5, 2013: Do you bless your meals?

February 05, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 5, 2013: Do you bless your meals?

I can remember it was always my Dad you said grace before every evening meal. He would say, “Bless oh Lord, this food to our use and us to thy service and keep us ever mindful of the needs of others”. When we were young girls my parents taught me and my sister the following: Thank you Lord for the world so sweet, thank you for the food we eat, thank you for the birds that sing thank you God for ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 4, 2013: Why were you last prompted to bless a person, animal, area or situation?

February 04, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 4, 2013: Why were you last prompted to bless a person, animal, area or situation?

It seems easy to send a Blessing to another that may be facing a troubling or emotional situation but I forget about myself. If it is a highly charged situation I have little control over, I do find peace following a blessing and if I don’t, I send myself one. It is very comforting to take a quiet moment and simply bless myself. Most the time we have little control over another person’s situation. ...

Valentine Blessing Feb 3, 2013: Did you have family traditions or celebrations involving Blessings?

February 03, 2013 Valentine Blessing Feb 3, 2013: Did you have family traditions or celebrations involving Blessings?

When I was very young, I thought Blessings only revolved around my faith and it was the clergy’s job to Bless.  I’d bow my head and receive a Blessing.  I loved to be in a church service when a new baby was blessed.  I could tap into this incredible feeling of wonder and joy.  Many times I could not express my feelings when a Blessing was given. Another childhood memory is my Dad saying grace ...

Valentine Blessings February 2, 2013: What does a Blessings mean to you?

February 02, 2013 Valentine Blessings February 2, 2013: What does a Blessings mean to you?

Blessings mean different things to different people. For some it is something that revolves around faith but at other times it seems inappropriate to bless.  We’ve all greeted another by saying “how you doing” when in fact we really didn’t care about the answer.  It was just polite conversation like, saying “bless you” when someone nearby sneezes.   Then for those in the south, it ...

Lessons on Gratitude

January 01, 2013 Lessons on Gratitude

The very first article I picked up to read on January 1 2013, was the January/February 2013 Healthy Living Made Simple by Sam’s Club. I normally quickly flip through the pages but an article on Lessons on Gratitude from Oprah and Deepak Chopra caught my eye. Oprah says . . . “that there is a greater power guiding the universe. When you tap into it, you have that power. And it is your real responsibility ...

The Blessing of Peace on Earth

December 28, 2012 The Blessing of Peace on Earth

My message for this New Year is the Blessing of Peace.  I have a wonderful video that I sent to my family and friends to remind them of peace and the beauty that surrounds us.  If we only take a minute to slow down and stop doing.  It’s about slowing down and allowing the beautiful colors, light, shapes and sounds ...

Captain Cuddly Pants, the Cat

November 19, 2012 Captain Cuddly Pants, the Cat

I’m often asked what animals feel when we bless them.  The closest feeling or emotion they have to a blessing, is allowing.  Think about it.  When we bless, when we open our hearts, we allow those feelings to be sent forth.  There is no agenda or judgment around the outcome.  Many times our human “doing” gets in the way and the animal feels this as pushy and forceful.  We think we have ...

Excellence in Innovation Award

Hearts Everywhere You Look

October 27, 2012 Hearts Everywhere You Look

Before I created Bless Your Heart, I never noticed that Southwest Airlines logo included a heart.  I flew with them frequently on my Arizona trips.  I know, I should have been more observant but it slipped by me.  After I created Bless Your Heart, I was returning on Southwest Airlines from a difficult trip to see my Mother.  My Dad had just passed away and we were all dealing with very tender ...

Heart or B, which is it?

September 24, 2012 Heart or B, which is it?

I’ve been asked many times, “Is that a heart or a B?”  And the correct answer . . . it is both.  The brand represents Blessings and what comes from our hearts to our hearts.  When I was working on the trade mark research, I thought I would find many designs like the one I wanted.  I discovered none.  Thus I was granted the registered trademark for clothing, jewelry, housewares, and paper ...

Power of Our Hearts

July 29, 2012 Power of Our Hearts

One day I was juggling my to-do list of legal and marketing deadlines for Bless Your Heart.  In the back of my head, I was thinking “why me”.  Why did I start this endeavor and why did I think the world “needed” it and why did I think I could do it.  There is a country song, “I knew what I was feeling but what was I thinking”.  My dear friend is G W Hardin, a New York Times bestselling ...

The Masters Return

April 15, 2012 The Masters Return

The Masters Return by Joseph Crane, edited by G W Hardin. There was no shortage of volunteers as descriptions came froth saying how the unblessed water tasted like plastic from the bottle.  Others described how the chemicals were quite evident in the unblessed water while not present in the blessed water.  Still others described how smooth and springlike the blessed water tasted.  Many stated that ...

The Hidden Messages in Water

April 12, 2012 The Hidden Messages in Water

The Hidden Messages in Water   by Masaru Emoto is one of my favorite books.  A picture says a thousand words or seeing is believing.  Emoto writes: “The vibration of good words has a postiive effect on our world, whereas the    vibration from negative words has the power to destroy.  There are also fascinating differences generated in the crystals when the water is shown different ...

Bless Your Heart Alabaster

January 31, 2012 Bless Your Heart Alabaster

This piece was created as a gift for my parents several years ago. I remember telling the artist, I wanted a sculpture that represented love but not in a sappy way.

October 09, 2011 Beneficence

We were creating a piece to honor the retiring leaders of our community foundation. I wanted it to represent, wings, hearts and angels.

Rose Petal Blessing

August 24, 2011 Rose Petal Blessing

I chose to Bless the launch of this website and all of us that interact by offering up fresh pink rose petals from the land. My intent is for the inspiration and fullness of life’s positive energy to surround us all as we move along our paths.

Go For It

August 22, 2011 Go For It

As humans we are filled with so many questions as we start something new or question the old. Would of, should of, could of . . . not positive energy needed to approach a new venture. I’m looking at this website and what’s been created as a new way of offering inspiring words of encouragement. I’m surrounding the doubt and fear with Blessings.

Dog and Cat Positive Energy

August 22, 2011 Dog and Cat Positive Energy
